Promoting Children's Rights

At our Janaury staff meeting all staff took part in a short input from management about children's rights. 

Staff learnt about the policy and legislation that has developed over time to form the children's rights we have today through the United National Convention of the Rights of the Child. We learnt about the role of UNICEF in promoting children's rights. 

Staff looked further at ‘The Promise’ which is the act passed in Scotland in summer 2022 which ensures all children in Scotland grow up loved, safe and respected. We are going to be considering how we promote children's rights further in our practice at Rompers. 

We are now registered with the Rights Resecting Schools Programme which is a programme designed to help us consider rights further in our setting, we look forward to continuing our journey.
